How TempBox Works

TempBox generates a free, disposable email address the moment you open the page — no signup, no password, no personal data collected.

01

Address Generated

When you visit TempBox, a unique temporary email is created automatically via the mail.tm API — no action required from you.

02

Use It Anywhere

Copy your temp address and paste it into any signup form, trial, or service you don't fully trust.

03

Inbox Auto-Refreshes

TempBox checks for new emails every 10 seconds. Emails appear instantly — no manual refresh needed.

04

Walk Away When Done

Close the tab. The address disappears. Your real inbox stays clean and spam-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about disposable email.

Is TempBox free?

Yes — completely free. No plans, no paid tiers, no ads. TempBox is an open source project created by Somiron Adhikary.

How long does my temporary email last?

Your inbox is active for your entire browser session. Emails are auto-deleted after 24 hours. If you need a fresh address, click "New Address" on the home page.

Can I receive HTML emails and attachments?

Yes. TempBox renders full HTML emails in a sandboxed viewer so formatted newsletters, confirmations, and styled messages all display correctly. Attachments are listed in the email detail view.

Is my data private?

TempBox does not store your IP, personal data, or email content on our servers. Emails are handled by mail.tm. We have no access to your inbox after your session ends.

Can I use temp email for important accounts?

No. Disposable emails are for short-term use only. Don't use them for banking, social media you care about, or any account you need long-term access to.

What API does TempBox use?

TempBox uses the mail.tm REST API, which provides CORS-enabled temporary email with full HTML and attachment support — completely free.

Is TempBox open source?

Yes. TempBox is an open source project by Somiron Adhikary. Feel free to study, fork, and build on it.
